Andrew Lesa

Manurewa Local Board

Andrew is committed to safer communities, backing local businesses, prioritising our essential council services, and investing in local infrastructure. High-rise apartments are encroaching on our way of life. A resident of 33 years, his extensive background in public service will help put Manurewa first.

Andrew is currently a director for ACC, the Real Estate Authority, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health. He was previously deputy chairman at Manurewa High School for over ten years, a board member at Roscommon Primary School for six years, deputy chairman of the Auckland Conservation Board (DOC), and an elected representative at the Manukau City Council.

In his spare time he sits on the boards of Leukemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand, Kidney Health New Zealand, and the Diabetes Foundation. Give your vote to Andrew and elect someone you can trust to make a difference.

Andrew Lesa

Wiri Licensing Trust

Andrew is currently a funding assessor with Creative New Zealand, managing millions of dollars in government funding for the performing arts industry. He was a former director at JR McKenzie Trust, the largest philanthropic organisation in the country. He was previously a senior adviser at Philanthropy New Zealand. This rich experience managing financial assets makes him an ideal candidate for the trust. Raised in a Clendon state house, he experienced the harmful effects of gambling first-hand. He is driven by the belief that the proceeds from gambling should be spent on prevention and is keen to back our local clubs and charities.

This year Andrew Lesa is standing for the Wiri Trust with Joseph Allan, Ally Billaney, Luella Linaker, Joe Lukupa and Kriss Rapana. Their backgrounds include sports, governance, hospitality, mental health, and addiction services.
