I've lived in Manurewa for 19 years with my family and my children attended local schools. Housing intensification is prevalent and it’s important that steps are taken to address possible impacts on street parking and insufficient green urban spaces. The street I live in has recently been upzoned to apartment buildings and I have concerns about the long term effects this will have on our community.
My work experience includes working at the Solomon Group in Manurewa, piloting the Kia Puawai programme partnering with the Auckland Council and MSD. I have also worked for Auckland Council as part of the Southern Initiative, involved with Manurewa community projects including Te Maara Kai o Wirihana (food garden). I believe Manurewa needs fresh ideas and motivation. My team #LoveManurewa are all local residents with local knowledge. It’s time for change around the Local Board.
