Passionate, caring, committed are attributes which best describe Kriss Rapana, an educator who has served the community of Manurewa for the past fourteen years. During this time Kriss has been a music specialist, and classroom teacher in both mainstream and Māori bilingual. As Kahui Ako (Community of Learning) Within-School Leader, he led an inquiry into Wellbeing and Engagement. At Waimahia Intermediate he has led the School Choir and Kapa Haka. He assisted students to participate in community events, such as RunRewa and Matariki celebrations.
Ensuring students engage in quality programmes which promote the development of the arts, sports, culture, and leadership is what continues to be his motivation.
This year Kriss Rapana is standing for the Wiri Trust with Joseph Allan, Ally Billaney, Andrew Lesa, Luella Linaker and Joe Lukupa. Their backgrounds include sports, governance, hospitality, mental health, and addiction services. Please vote for Kriss Rapana and all #LoveManurewa candidates.
